I have owned the J C Pattern Co for 40 years. I am also a retired Government employee who worked for NASA, Dept of Navy, NIST, ISO and Northrop Grumman. My experience is in manufacturing and in standards development work for use in manufacturing and consulting.
My wife, Joann, is involved with many of the activities and programs here at LifePoint. Her personal experience comes from being a farm girl, a homemaker, and Realty Management for 38 years. Joann started showing apartments for a small rental company to becoming Administrative Assistant for 2 of the largest Rental Corporations in the Washington D.C. area.
Come August 26th 2020, Joann and I will celebrate 64 years of marriage. We have two daughters, one who currently is an active member at LifePoint and one who lives in a different state. We have four granddaughters and 7 great-grandchildren.
I became a Jesus follower in the spring of 1950 at a church revival meeting. On the last night during the very last song and last verse of Just As I Am, Jesus said, “Come.” I said “Yes Lord! I’ll come.” That night God saved me. I was 13 years old. From 1950 until 1971 my relationship with God was kind of off and on, at times somewhat non-existent, but then things changed.
In 1971 at a Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship meeting in Washington, DC there were two speakers that God used to change my life again. That Saturday evening, the Holy Spirit impressed upon me that Jesus wanted more of me, Much More of me. The following Sunday morning & evening, Pastor Russ Bexler, one of the speakers from the night before, was speaking at our church on the Power of the Holy Spirit. As part of his closing for that evening, he asked if anyone would like the power of the Holy Spirit to be released in their life. There were six who Pastor Russ prayed with that evening to have the Holy Spirt become active in our lives and to minister though us. God released that Power in my life that night and my walk with Jesus has not been the same since.
Joann and I were out of the area from 1962 until 2004. When we returned to the area we wanted a church that taught the Bible as it was written, and a pastor who presented the gospel message each Sunday. That is what we found at this church. When you come to LᴉfePoint you will never hear a watered-down message. The mission of this church is to make Jesus followers, that individuals will accept God’s free gift of salvation and eternal life with Him. Our vision is that God has placed LᴉfePoint in this area because people need to hear God’s call. Jesus has commanded us to GO and make disciples, and this area is ripe for His message. My hope is that this community will hear God’s calling, as the Holy Spirit starts to minister to the needs of hurting people. Most people do not know where to go when they are hurting from life situations. That’s when the Holy Spirit can really work in their life. My prayer and hope is that people will come to LᴉfePoint Church for help when they are hurting and will meet the living Jesus one-on-one.
